Daily we receive reports from around the world of unspeakable human tragedies of suffering, and with them comes the growing realization of the inadequacies of the current response of the world community to alleviate the suffering and correct the injustice.
This is where the Global Compassion Network receives its CALLING:
We believe it is the responsibility of the global Christian community not to complain about the inadequacies of the response of the world community but to take seriously OUR OWN CALLING as Christians to obey God’s command for action:
“To loose the chains of injustice and to untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke. Is it not to share your food with the hungry and provide the poor wanderer with shelter, when you see the naked to clothe him and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” (Isaiah 58:6-7 NIV)
